So here's what I've been listening to this year (in no particular order, and this list may grow over time as I find more inspiration and jog my aging memory)... Have a great holiday.
Greg Laswell - Three Flights from Alto Nido (album)
Sick of moping around grey old London, we hit the M40 and got outta Dodge! Thankfully the sun cooperated. It was the usual gang and it was a ball! Good way to spend some time before everyone goes in different directions.
Can't decide who is cutest, our lot or the "kids," sheep and Sammy's personal favorite, the Gloucestershire Old Spots (hey, you pay a lot for that at Lidgate's!). Regardless, there were adorable piglets, bushy sheep, naughty goats begging for eats, and snowy white cows. Oh and we got to go off road and Bess and the General LOVED the bumps and ruts and splashing mud!
We seem to be lousy at action shots of our parties... guess we're too busy enjoying them! But this year had another fabulous showing from our friends and this year everyone ate AND drank tons-we were pleased!
The smartest thing we did was hire an entertainer. We had Ben, a classically trained double bass player who makes some hard-earned extra cash doing "kids" parties. The kids rocked it upstairs while the adults drank champagne, the finest Czech lager, and Lange Twins all while eating our now famous Toll House cookies.
This is a bit over a month old but never ceases to entertain us... The General standing on his chair with a song at the ready is a pretty common occurrence.
OK, so among many other things we did on our Thanksgiving holiday, The General got his first proper haircut. It was an extremely momentous event. He is the third generation to go to Mr. Tony. Mr. Tony was thrilled to have the honor.
To give you an idea of how dire the need was, here is the General on the first morning of our holiday. The temp was in the low 20's. We don't have such cold in London so we had to make due with some of Bess's tights. The General seemed pleased. Do note the hair.
And a week later, in the chair... Checking Mama is still there... Dada is very excited...
