BEEN TO ITALY
This past week we visited Venezia and then drove up into the Alta Badia region of the Dolomites. For Sammy and Finbar, it was a particularly special trip. We visited Venice together in 1993. And we share a love of the mountains so to bring the children there was magical. For Bess and the General, it was a particularly gastronomic visit....I think they call that Gastronomic Sport....they completed their first Alpine hike, rode their first gondola (both the water and the alpine sort), and ate a tremendous amount of gelato, proscuitto and formaggio. Heaven. Pictures to come.

GROWN UP PARTY
We had our first catered affair this past week, a drinks party. We knew it would rock when our first guest rolled up on a motorcycle. Needless to say, yes, those are a lot of glasses on the bar, and yes, there was quite a lot drunk that evening. It was a ball. No photos to show of the party in full swing, just some serious hangovers the next day. All good!

BESS'S BEAN
Bess planted a bean at school in a glass jar and it continues to grow, and grow and grow. She is a very proud gardener!
